Our products adhere to theSuitcase Quality Standard(SQS), an holistic quality inspection standard derived from years of experience.
With over 20 years of retail and warranty experience in Japan, we have established standards more rigorous than general testing criteria to prioritize consumer safety.
In addition to minimizing environmental impact through durable products, we also offer repair and maintenance services for our products.

  • SQS 01 The Running Test

    The Running Test is a durability assessment conducted on suitcase to evaluate its ability to endure physical stress and movement commonly experienced during transport. This test simulates the suitcase being subjected to continuous rolling or running on a specific surface.

    Test roller with Obstacle (8mm~10mm), Speed (4km/h)

    Test Procedur
    1) Position the suitcase to create a 45℃±2℃ angle with the horizontal plane of the test roller.
    2) Keep the suitcase undergoing continuous rolling on the Roller with obstacles (8mm-10mm) at a speed of 4 km/h in 2 hours (8km over 2 hours).
    3) Inspections are conducted per hour during the test to assess any wear and tear, potential damage, or functional issues(wheels, tire, telescopic handle). Passing criteria for wheels is wear within 2mm.

  • SQS 02 The Drop Test

    Drop Test Apparatus
    Six drops from a height of 100cm: One drop each on the top, bottom, front, back, and both sides.
    Four drops from a height of 60cm: One drop for each Wheel.

    Test Procedure
    1) Condition verification for Six drops from a height of 100cm: One drop each on the top, bottom, front, back, and both sides.
    2) Condition verification for Four drops from a height of 60cm: One drop for each Wheel. Ensure that the center of gravity is applied to each wheel during the test

  • SQS 03 Rolling Test

    The rolling test simulates the suitcase being handled in the airport and other tough environments.

    Hexagonal drum with protrusions on the inside, each side measuring 1 meter.
    Rotation cycles: 20 revolutions
    Rotation speed: 2 revolutions per minute

    Test Procedure
    1)Position the suitcase inside the hexagonal drum with protrusions on the inside, each side measuring 1 meter.
    2)Keep 10 revolutions at a speed of 2 revolutions per minute and identify any rupture, damage, perforation, deformation, and functional loss of each part in the suitcase.
    3)Proceed with an additional 10 revolutions to check again .

  • SQS 04 Handle Strength Test

    The Handle Strength Test evaluates the durability and strength of the suitcase handles, including both the top and side handles.
    The test involves securing the handle portion and subjecting it to a rapid downward jerk or force . 400 repetitions of this jerking motion are applied to both the top and side handles.

    Test Procedure
    1) Secure the handle portion to the arm and perform a rapid downward jerk for 400 times.
    2) After each test for the top handle and side handle, verify the condition.

  • SQS 05 Telescopic Handle Strength Test

    The test involves extending the telescopic handle and then rapidly jerking it downwards for 300 repetitions. The purpose is to assess the system’s ability to withstand abrupt movements and forces.
    The test ensures that the telescopic handle remains durable and functional under conditions that mimic real-world handling scenarios.

    Test Procedure
    1) With the Telescopic Handle extended, secure the handle portion and perform a rapid swinging motion downward 300 times.
    2) Verify the condition after 300 repetitions.

  • SQS 06 Corrosion Resistance Test (The Saltwater Spray Test)

    The Saltwater Spray Test is a corrosion resistance evaluation used to assess the durability of metallic components, especially those susceptible to rust and corrosion, when exposed to a saline environment. The test involves subjecting the product or its metal parts to a fine mist of neutral saline solution to simulate the effects of exposure to saltwater or salty atmospheric conditions.

    Saltwater Spray Test Apparatus
    Spraying of neutral sodium chloride solution for 48 hours

    Test Procedure
    1) Place metal parts used in the saltwater spray test apparatus
    2)Spray with a neutral sodium chloride solution in mist form for 48 hours
    3) Observe for any changes or rust after allowing it to stand for 72 hours

  • SQS 07 The Fabric Friction Rigidity test

    The Fabric Friction Rigidity test evaluates the resistance and durability of a fabric against friction. This test assesses how well the fabric can withstand rubbing or abrasion, which is important for determining its overall wear resistance.

    Our Fabric Friction Rigidity test is conducted according to the JIS L 0849 standard Friction Testing Machine
    Test Method: Crockmeter Method
    Number of Friction Cycles: 10 reciprocating movements (Dry and Wet)

    Test Procedure
    1)Fix the test piece (dry / wetted cotton fabric)on waterproof abrasive paper on the friction testing machine.
    2)Perform 10 reciprocating friction movements with a load of approximately 9N (about 918g) on both test pieces.
    3)Determine the degree of abrasion using a grayscale for staining judgment.

    Acceptance Criteria
    Dry: Grade 4 or above
    Wet: Grade 3 or above

Inspections are conducted with a load inside the suitcase. The weight limits for different suitcase sizes are as follows:
  • SS Size (Height below 40cm): 8kg
  • S Size (Cabin size): 16kg
  • M Size (Height below 60cm): 20kg
  • L Size (Total of 3 sides up to 158cm): 25kg
  • LL Size (Total of 3 sides above 158cm): 28kg

OEM requests for the manufacturing of products meeting our SQS standards, including private labels and original items are acceptable .
